Teen charged in fatal Waukegan shooting

A 15-year-old boy has been charged with first-degree murder and aggravated battery with a firearm after a fatal shooting Friday in Waukegan, officials said.

Police were called to Genesee and Clayton streets around 11 p.m. about a shooting and, when officers arrived, they found two victims, according to a news release from the Waukegan Police Department.

Daiyon Bolden of Waukegan, 19, was taken to a hospital, where he died about 5 a.m. Saturday, according to the release. An autopsy is scheduled for Sunday. The second victim, a Beach Park man in his 20s, also was taken to a hospital with injuries that are not life-threatening.

The teen suspect currently is being held at Depke Juvenile Detention Center in Vernon Hills, officials said.
