Patriotic concert at Libertyville summer camp

Students strolled through the audience playing violins and violas to "America the Beautiful" Tuesday morning during the July Fourth Musical Celebration Concert as part of the Libertyville Elementary District 70 summer school program.

About 40 students participating in the band and orchestra classes played patriotic songs during the outdoor concert at Highland Middle School in Libertyville. Music teachers George Huff and Carol Janossy directed.

"They love this. You can see that the students really enjoy the concert. This is a nice kickoff to the Fourth of July weekend," said Janossy, orchestra teacher at Highland.

The event began with summer campers standing during the playing of "The Star-Spangled Banner" and then listened to "America," "America the Beautiful," "Honor and Glory," "Wild West Saga" and concluded with a medley titled "The Red, White and Blues."
