Wauconda Fest returns June 21-24

The Wauconda Park District will hold its annual Wauconda Fest Thursday through Sunday, June 21-24 in Wauconda's Cook Park. The family event features carnival ride, a wine tasting tent, a car show, a craft show and more.

Festival hours are 5-10 p.m. Thursday, June 21; 5 p.m. to midnight Friday, June 22; noon to midnight Saturday, June 23; and noon to 9 p.m. Sunday, June 24. Admission to the festival requires a Fest Button, which costs $3 and it good for all four days.

Ride specials are available each day of the festival, with tickets for $1 each (two or three tickets per ride) on Thursday, 22 tickets for $20 Friday, and $23 wristbands available Saturday and Sunday, which are good for unlimited ides from noon to 5 p.m. that day.

Each day also includes live musical performances, including Anthony Gomes performing blues and rock on Thursday, the Modern Day Romeos on Friday, classic rock cover band ARRA on Saturday, Soda on Sunday, and others.

The Arts & Craft show will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, with all manor of vendors displaying and selling their work.

The annual Wauconda Fest Bags Tourney will take place during the fest, with an adult tournament at 4 p.m. Saturday and a parent/teen tournament at 2:30 p.m. Sunday. Entry is $25 per team for the adult tournament and $10 per teem for the parent/teen tournament. For official rules and to register in advance, visit the festival website.

The Wauconda Fest Car Show will take place from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday. Registration and setup are from 8-11 a.m. The cost to register a show car is $15. There are more than 20 classes in which to compete for cars and trucks. A trophy presentation will be held at 3:30 p.m., with awards for first, second and third place in each class, plus Best of Show for custom and stock cars.
