Arlington Heights sells two lots for $400,000

Arlington Heights officials are selling for $400,000 two pieces of property that at one time were contemplated for stormwater control purposes.

The village only received one firm offer for the two 10,875-square-foot parcels at 2071 and 2081 N. Ridge Ave. They had been marketed for sale since last fall. Officials inked a real estate contract with Jeanette and Richard Zirngibl for the vacant land last week.

The village acquired the lots in 1994 after the development of the Woods of Arlington subdivision and at one time considered using them for a regional stormwater control facility. But a detention basin was later built nearby instead.
