Cause of death undetermined for homeless man in Arlington Heights

Results of an autopsy were still pending late Friday for a 65-year-old homeless man whose identity had not yet been released after he was found dead Thursday afternoon in downtown Arlington Heights.

Police received a 911 call about 3:30 p.m. Thursday from someone who saw the unresponsive man lying in a landscaped area near the intersection of Arlington Heights Road and Northwest Highway, according to Deputy Police Chief Nick Pecora.

Though an official cause of death has yet to be determined, police said the manner of death appeared to be natural. Police also said there is no danger to the community. Though the man has been identified by police, the public release of his name is awaiting notification of his next of kin.
