Three northwest suburban libraries receive state grants

Libraries in Des Plaines, Elk Grove Village and Schaumburg Township will receive state grants ranging from $27,630 to $158,561 through the Illinois Public Library Per Capita and Equalization Aid program.

The grants help fund library expenses such as materials, personnel, equipment, telecommunications and technology. In all, $15 million in grants were awarded through the Illinois secretary of state's office.

Recipients include the Des Plaines Public Library, $72,955; the Elk Grove Village Public Library, $27,630; and the Schaumburg Township District Library, $158,561.
