Arlington Heights police release sketch of luring suspect

Arlington Heights police on Wednesday released a sketch of a man suspected of trying to lure two girls recently outside Olive-Mary Stitt Elementary School.

In a community alert, police said the two girls, ages 9 and 10, left school about 3:45 p.m. after the initial dismissal rush on Friday, April 13. As they were walking toward their parents' cars, the suspect peered out from behind a bush and motioned for the girls to come with him, authorities said.

The girls, who didn't recognize the man, walked to where their parents were parked. Once the parents found out what occurred, they drove to the area near the bush, but the suspect was gone, according to police.

The suspect is described as a white man in his 60s who was wearing a blue mechanic-type shirt and baggy blue jeans. Anyone with information is asked to call (847) 368-5353.
