Elk Grove Township hiring paid summer interns

Elk Grove Township is accepting applications for two paid summer internships that will provide experience working for township government.

Applicants should be in their junior or senior year in college and be proficient in using email and Microsoft products, including Outlook, Word and Excel.

One internship is being offered through the general assistance department. Applicants should be majoring in social work, human services or a related field, be compassionate about providing assistance to in-need residents, and able to lift about 25 pounds to stock the food pantry.

Township administration is also offering an internship, which will include learning about how local government organizations function and assisting with program development to benefit residents.
