Art students show their stuff at Mundelein High

The third annual Mundelein All-Area Art Show began its two-day run Thursday at the high school's main gymnasium.

It includes student entries from Mundelein High School, Carl Sandburg Middle School, Diamond Lake Elementary, Fairhaven School, Fremont Intermediate, Fremont Middle School, Lincoln Elementary, Mechanics Grove Intermediate, Washington Elementary and West Oak Middle School.

Art pieces on display include paintings, drawings, sculptures, photos, collages and mixed media.

Thursday's formal reception is followed by a showing from 7:45 to 11:25 a.m. Friday at 1350 W. Hawley St. Admission is free.

"It is one of the highlights of the year for all participating parties as it brings student artists from all levels together side by side to exhibit student achievement in the visual arts," said Jonathan Pruc, Mundelein High School art faculty member.
