Libertyville kindergarteners aim to trap leprechauns

More than 40 Rockland School kindergarten students built leprechaun traps to celebrate St. Patrick's Day.

The kindergartners worked with family members to make the traps and brought them to school Friday for demonstrations.

They showed off the traps Friday morning to fellow students at the Libertyville school.

Friday afternoon, families were invited to stop by the school to view the traps.

The project was led by teachers Dale List and Alicia Howell, who have been teaching about St. Patrick's Day in class and reading books about the holiday.

Before heading home Friday, students set the traps in hopes of catching a leprechaun over the weekend.
