Families laugh along with 'Gulliver's Travels' in Round Lake Beach

Kids and parents laughed as they were treated to a hilarious production of "Gulliver's Travels" Saturday at the Round Lake Beach Cultural and Civic Center.

The play was put on by the Improv Playhouse and featured actors and puppets as they wove the tale of a giant on the mythical island country of Lilliput.

The production is part of a monthly program called Smilin' Saturday Stories.

Actor Jonathan Clothier, Gulliver, had the audience belly laughing as he interacted with them and puppet actors Asutyn Davis and Shane Tarplee.

"It's lots of silliness and lots of fun," said Skylar Grieco creative director of theater for young audiences at the Improv Playhouse.

Smilin' Saturday Stories is free for the whole family and will continue with performances of "The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe" on March 3 and "The Ugly Duckling" on April 7. All shows start at 11 a.m. in the Black Box Theater.

Reservations are recommended by calling (847) 201-9032 or going to www.rlbciviccenter.com.
