A 46-year-old Glen Ellyn man suffered life-threatening injuries Wednesday morning when he was hit by two trucks on I-294 near Burr Ridge.

The man, who hasn't been identified, was traveling north on I-294 shortly before 10 a.m. when he lost control of his 2014 Dodge Ram pickup truck and struck the guardrail on the right side of the road, state police said.

Authorities said the motorist left his pickup truck and ran into oncoming traffic where he was hit by a truck driven by a 43-year-old Streamwood man and then by a second truck driven by a 30-year-old Alsip man.

The man was taken to a hospital in LaGrange.

Authorities said they are still investigating the incident.
