Entry deadline Wednesday for Palatine St. Patrick's parade

The deadline is Wednesday for entries into Palatine's 8th annual Paint the Town Green St. Patrick's Day celebration and parade, scheduled to take place Saturday, March 17, in the village's downtown.

A deadline for sponsors is Feb. 9.

Applications for sponsors, entry in the parade, Irish market and scavenger hunt are available at www.stpatspalatine.com. A limited amount of openings are available for the Irish market on a first come first served basis. Participants for the scavenger hunt will be accepted online until March 9 and the day of the event at the Irish market.

The festivities will begin with an Irish market under a tent outside Durty Nellie's, 180 N. Smith St., and run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The parade steps off at 11 a.m. at the corner of Wood and Oak streets and continues west on Wood to Brockway and north to Colfax.

Sponsorships run from $50 to $1,000. The premier sponsor and presenter of the festival is Durty Nellie's. The media sponsor is the Daily Herald Media Group.
