Gas station in Des Plaines robbed at gunpoint

A Citgo gas station in Des Plaines was robbed at gunpoint last weekend, but no arrests have been reported.

According to police, a robber walked into the gas station at 1733 E. Oakton St. at 6 a.m. Sunday. He brandished a black revolver and demanded money, police said.

The cashier removed cash from the register and placed it on the store counter, police said. The robber took the cash and then exited the business traveling south on Sycamore Street.

The robber was described as a white or Hispanic man between 5 feet 6 inches and 5 feet 10 inches tall and 185 pounds. He wore a gray hooded sweatshirt, black pants and a blue fabric over his mouth and nose.
