District 25 swears in new board member, honors predecessor

Chad Conley has been appointed by the Arlington Heights Elementary District 25 school board to fill the remainder of the term of Chuck Williams, a longtime board member who stepped down in October.

Conley, a volunteer for youth wrestling and at St. James Parish and Windsor Elementary School, was sworn in Thursday night. He is a parent of students at Windsor and South Middle School. After Williams announced his resignation Oct. 31 due to medical reasons, the board received eight applications for the position, and decided to interview four.

Williams was also recognized for his 27 years of service at the board meeting. First elected in 1991, he is the longest serving District 25 board member that district officials could recall from their records.

Conley will serve until the term expires in spring 2019.
