Man sought in 2 North Aurora break-ins

North Aurora police are looking for a man suspected of burglarizing two homes.

They have a pretty good idea of what he looks like, as one of the residents took a photo of the suspect as he fled.

On Tuesday, police were called to a home on the 100 block of South Lincolnway for a report of a burglary in progress. The homeowner heard the break-in and saw the suspect walking from the rear of the property toward Lincolnway, then north. The back door had been forced open. Nothing was taken.

The suspect was wearing a bright yellow jacket and military-style camouflage-print pants.

Police say the suspect matches the description of a man suspected of trying to burglarize a home in the 0-100 block of South Grant Street Nov. 7. Nothing was taken. The suspect in that case was described as being about 50 years old, "slightly chubby," about 6 feet tall, with scruffy gray facial hair

If you have information about either case, police ask that you call the Investigations Division at (630) 897-8705, ext. 610. If you choose option 3, you can leave an anonymous tip. Or call Aurora Area Crime Stoppers at (630) 892-1000 and receive a reward for information leading to a felony arrest.
