Palatine High School holding free Halloween event Thursday

Palatine High School is presenting its annual free Trick or Treat with Pirate Pete event from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 26, at the school, 1111 N. Rohlwing Road.

Children 10 and under accompanied by an adult are invited. Students from school clubs, organizations, programs and sports teams will staff the event. The gym and cafeteria will have a large selection of carnival-type games, classrooms throughout the first floor will be decorated and marked to let parents know if they are scary or not so scary, Sue's Party Animals will allow people to pet and hold different critters, and treats will be handed out.

The event is sponsored by staff and student groups along with community organizations and businesses. The PHS Pirate Boosters Club provides an annual grant of $1,750 for supplies and candy. For information, call the school at (847) 755-1600.
