Images: #TBT Gallery looks back at October 1972

Daily Herald photographers used their 35 mm cameras and black and white film to document some moody scenes 45 years ago.

October 1972 was a month of change. The weather got cooler, vegetables were ripe for use as Halloween decorations, a new Miss America started her reign in the Northwest suburbs, a world famous politician made a campaign stop at a local high school and students were using cardboard to learn about computers.

The grainy pictures take us to a time when life seemed much slower and easier.
