Wheeling police department hosting 'Coffee with a Cop' Oct. 4

The Wheeling Police Department will host its second-annual "Coffee with a Cop" event from 7:30 a.m. to 9 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 4, at the Dunkin' Donuts, 749 N. Milwaukee Ave. in Wheeling.

"Last year's event was a great success, and we are looking forward to speaking to local residents about anything they would like to talk about," Wheeling Police Chief James J. Dunne said in a news release. "The key to maintaining a positive relationship with our residents is to keep the lines of communication open, which the Coffee with a Cop program does quite well."

Coffee with a Cop is a program designed to break down barriers between law enforcement and the communities they serve. During the event, residents can visit the establishments where the event is being held and have a conversation with a police officer in a relaxed atmosphere.
