District 21 hosts superintendent search forum

Wheeling Township Elementary District 21 will host a forum Tuesday night, Sept. 26, to gauge opinions of community members on characteristics they would like to see in the district's next superintendent.

The focus group is scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m. in the London Middle School library, 1001 W. Dundee Road in Wheeling. A survey will also be available online at ccsd21.org from Monday, Sept. 25, through Friday, Sept. 29.

Superintendent Kate Hyland is retiring after this coming school year.

The school board is contracting with BWP and Associates to conduct the nationwide search, which includes developing a superintendent candidate profile by Oct. 19, collecting resumes, presenting the board with finalists, and coordinating interviews. The firm's proposal was for $14,900 plus expenses.
