Illinois Impact Fastpitch Softball holding tryouts for 2017-18 season
Illinois Impact Fastpitch Softball is holding tryouts for its college exposure fastpitch softball teams for 2017-18. The competitive program expects to have multiple teams at the 14u, 16u, and 18u levels.
Illinois Impact is an A-level, college exposure program that works out at Players Edge Baseball & Softball Academy in Mundelein and attracts players from high schools in Lake, Cook and McHenry counties.
Tryouts will take place at Trinity International University and Players Edge Baseball & Softball Academy.
Tryout times are:
• 14u - 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 5 at Trinity University; noon to 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 6, Trinity University; 7-8 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 9, at Players Edge; 9 to 11 a.m. Aug. 12 at Trinity University and noon to 3 p.m. Aug. 13 Trinity University.
• 16u - 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 5 at Trinity University; 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 6, Trinity University; 8-9 p.m. Wednesday, Aug 9, at Players Edge; 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Aug. 12, Trinity University and noon to 3 p.m. Aug. 13 at Trinity University.
• 18u - 1:30 to 3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 5 at Trinity University; 4:30 to 6 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 6, Trinity University; 9-10 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 9, at Players Edge, 1:30 to 3 p.m. Aug. 12 at Trinity University and noon to 3 p.m. Aug. 13 at Trinity University.
• The organization is starting a new 23u - college aged team for the summer of 2018. Players who are playing softball in college on official NCAA/NAIA or club teams are welcome to join and play about three tournaments. Contact Coach Kent Szarabajka for more information at (847) 306-1547.
