Gail Lukasik, award-winning author of the Leigh Girard mystery series, will be one of the featured authors at the AuthorFest book festival from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 5, at the Round Lake Beach Cultural and Civic Center off Hook Drive west of Route 83. Visitors can buy signed books from more than 35 local authors and participate in a community art project hosted by Grayslake Art Alliance, as well as a raffle, and a scavenger hunt. There will be children's book readings, free painting, live music and food vendors. Profits support the proposed Ray Bradbury Museum in Waukegan.
