Schneider, Skilling to lead Earth Day discussion in Lake County

10th District Congressman Brad Schneider and WGN-TV Chief Meteorologist Tom Skilling will be among the featured panelists at a public discussion on climate change Saturday at the Chicago Botanic Garden in Glencoe.

Schneider, a Democrat from Deerfield, will guide a discussion of the science of global climate change, its effect on the planet, and efforts to address it. Seating is limited and free registration is required for attendees.

Other panelists include Elisabeth Moyer, associate professor, Energy Policy Institute, University of Chicago; Gregory Mueller, chief scientist and Negaunee Foundation Vice President of Science, Chicago Botanic Garden; and Donald Wuebbles, Harry E. Preble Professor of Atmospheric Science, University of Illinois.

The event takes place from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. at the garden's Nichols Hall, 1000 Lake-Cook Road, Glencoe.
