FBI hunting Arlington Heights bank robber

The FBI is searching for a man who robbed an Arlington Heights bank at gunpoint Friday morning, Arlington Heights Police said.

The man entered the Harris Bank branch at 1007 W. Euclid Ave., walked to the teller window, pointed a dark-colored handgun and demanded money, police said.

He fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of money, police said.

Police were called just before 9 a.m. A police dog tracked the suspect to about a block from the bank where the trail went cold. Police said the robber appears to have left the area in a vehicle that was waiting for him.

Authorities are seeking a white man about 6 feet tall with blond hair and weighing about 170 pounds. He was wearing a black cap, sunglasses, a white and burgundy safety vest over a gray sweatshirt and fatigue pants, police said.
