Inverness couple honored by children's group

An upcoming gala to benefit Aspire Children's Services will honor an Inverness couple, which has been long-time supporters of the organization.

Tom and Kathy Roth will be honored at the 10th annual Big City Night gala Feb. 23. The group provides support to families with children who have developmental disabilities in the Western suburbs.

The Roths have a long history with them. Nearly three decades ago, Aspire was a client of Tom Roth's bank, Melrose Park National Bank. Roth helped create the first annual Builders for Aspire golf outing, which continues to be a major source of funding and publicity for the organization.

He also served several terms as an Aspire board member.

The couple has continued to spread word about the organization, and for all of their help, they will receive thee Geraldine Post Breaker "Building Their Future" Award. It's named after the late Breaker, an Aspire board member whose own child received services from the organization as an adult.

Aspire's Big City Night will be held from 6 p.m. to midnight at the Hyatt Regency Chicago. Tickets are $150 per person and include dinner, dancing, live and silent auctions and a raffle. Call (708) 547-3575 for information.
