Johnson Insurance Agency was founded in Chicago in 1955 by George and Barbara Johnson. In January 1958 the two moved to a small town in the country called Elk Grove Village. The original agency was operated in their one-car garage located on Briarwood Lane. In 1978 they moved to a new home with a two-car garage on Northampton Circle.

In 1983 their son Craig B. Johnson joined the agency and shortly after moved to 500 E. Higgins Road In 1990, Craig's brother-in-law Bill Beaupre joined the agency and they then moved to their current location at 450 E. Higgins Road. The agency is still the oldest business in Elk Grove Village, being there since January 1958.

Craig and Bill acquired the family business from George in 1996. Since acquiring the agency, the two have grown the business by always putting customer service first. Craig and Bill were born and raised in Elk Grove Village. In fact each has raised his own family there, and now their children are raising Craig's and Bill's grandchildren in Elk Grove Village.

They have also always given back to the community. Craig has served on the Elk Grove Village Board first as a trustee and for the last 24 years as mayor of the community. Bill has been a proud member of the Elk Grove Rotary Club for 25 years and has served as president three times.

Since the beginning the agency has been an independent insurance agency representing many different insurance companies. We are the one-stop place for all insurance needs.

We primarily offer personal lines coverages like auto, home, renters, condominium, umbrella life as well as boat, jet ski, snowmobile, collector car, motorhome, mobile home and motorcycle coverage. We also offer a wide range of commercial lines coverage like general liability, workers compensation, business auto, umbrella, professional and a wide range of bonds. We also sell several types of health insurance.

Craig and Bill have 70 years combined insurance experience between them and still treat every customer just like George did back in 1955. The agency has many long-term customers and in many cases is writing third-generation policies.

Craig and Bill take great pride in the attention to detail and the extra time spent with each insured. Once a policy is sold the customer service continues, including help with any claims.
