Women's Day tribute

Good Shepherd Lutheran Church hosts the Second Annual International Women's Day Concert, spearheaded by Bellissima Opera and Working in Concert as a way to showcase the world-class talents of women in the arts as they perform works by other women. The event will feature a world premiere of “Will They Remember Life Was Beautiful?” - a vocal performance piece written by Chicago-area artists Mary Grace Bertulfo and Elizabeth Doyle. 2:30 p.m. Sunday, March 5, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church of Oak Park, 611 Randolph St., Oak Park. $22.50-$27.50 for general admission, $10 for students and $45 for VIP reserved seating. workinginconcert.org.

Pinkerton Raid at SPACE

Get set for a night of Americana, country, indie and soul as The Pinkerton Raid, Nathan Graham and Nicholas Johnson take over the North Shore's intimate listening venue SPACE for a week-starting show. 7 p.m. Monday, March 6, at SPACE, 1245 Chicago Ave., Evanston. $12-$20. evanstonspace.com.

Heatwave inbound

Last week, Heatwave announced headliners for the upcoming music festival, making its way to Northerly Island, 1300 S. Linn White Drive, Chicago, on Saturday and Sunday, June 10-11. GRiZ, deadmau5, Kx5, Slander and Tiësto head up the bill, but the full lineup was dropped Friday fleshed out by Coco & Breezy, Sidepiece, TWINSICK, Alec Monopoly, Cheat Codes, Elephante, Gryffin and many others. The weekend also enlists support from the local scene, including Avi Sic, DanceLoud, Fiya Fly, Levity, Shes.Haute and Sonorous. Tickets are on sale now at heatwavemusicfestival.com.
