Immigrant experience

Photographic exhibitions

“Gather Together: Chicago Street Photography,” an exhibition by photographer Diane Alexander White showcasing images of Greek American celebrations and other ethnic and cultural festivals held in Chicago during the 1970s and 1980s, continues at the National Hellenic Museum, 333 N. Halsted St., Chicago. Included are photographs from Greek Independence Day, Bud Billiken Day, St. Patrick's Day and Chinese New Year parades, and Japanese, Puerto Rican and Jewish festivals and other events. The museum also presents the North American debut of “Resilience,” an exhibition by photographer Prince Nikolaos of Greece and Denmark about environmental preservation in Greece. Tickets cost $7-$10.
