Second Chicago Theatre date added to Michelle Obama's book tour

Judging from the audience response to her U.S. tour in support of her latest book, former first lady Michelle Obama remains as popular as ever.

So much so that her publishing house - citing overwhelming demand - added a second December appearance at the Chicago Theatre in support of her second book, "The Light We Carry: Overcoming in Uncertain Times," which follows the South Side native's 2018 memoir, "Becoming."

Incorporating personal stories and reflections, "The Light We Carry" contains Obama's advice on how to remain hopeful and balanced in today's problematic world.

The tour will launch Nov. 15 in Washington, D.C. It will stop in Chicago several weeks later, when Obama will chat with moderator David Letterman on Dec. 5 and with moderator Heather McGhee on Dec. 6.

Tickets are $99.50 to $595. They're available at michelleobamabooks.com.
