New venues in Kildeer, Buffalo Grove show indoor golf's growth in the suburbs
You don't have to risk sunburn or strain your knees trudging from hole to hole to enjoy golf.
The Barrington Area Chamber of Commerce gathered last week for a ribbon-cutting ceremony and open house for the new indoor golf venue X-Golf, 20771 N Rand Road in Kildeer.
X-Golf provides state-of-the-art golf simulators, as well as a bar and entertainment space. Golfers can play some of the world's greatest golf courses without ever leaving town.
"We love this community, and are excited to open our new indoor golf facility in Kildeer," X-Golf owner David Yi said. "My vision is to provide a venue where people can relax, practice their golf game, enjoy being around other golfers, and just have a good time."
X-Golf operates 12 other venues in Illinois, including suburban locations in Schaumburg, Libertyville, Glenview, Naperville, Geneva and Algonquin.

Indoor golf has already proven itself elsewhere in the Northwest suburbs, such as at WJ Golf, 1380 Busch Parkway in Buffalo Grove. WJ Golf also opened recently at Buffalo Grove's Arboretum Club, 401 Half Day Road, offering private lessons, golf simulators, full-service dining and entertainment to complement the club's 18-hole outdoor course.
