Tickets for 'Devil Wears Prada' musical on sale Thursday

Tickets go on sale Thursday for the Broadway-bound "The Devil Wears Prada, The Musical," premiering July 19 at Chicago's James M. Nederlander Theatre.

The musical is based on Lauren Weisberger's 2003 New York Times bestseller and the hit 2006 film starring Anne Hathaway as aspiring journalist Andy Sachs and Meryl Streep as ruthless fashion editor Miranda Priestly.

The musical's score is by composer Elton John and lyricist Shaina Taub, and the book is by Kate Wetherhead.

Former Steppenwolf Theatre artistic director Anna D. Shapiro, Tony winner for "August: Osage County," helms the tuner, which stars Taylor Iman Jones as newbie Andy and Tony Award-winner Beth Leavel as the formidable Miranda.

"The Devil Wears Prada" runs from July 19 through Aug. 21 at 24 W. Randolph St., Chicago. Tickets range from $33 to $110. They're available by phone at (800) 775-2000 or broadwayinchicago.com.
