Amaze-ing holiday lights display on deck at Rosemont's Impact Field

Rosemont's Impact Field is being transformed into a winter wonderland with more than a million lights as the backdrop for a new family-friendly holiday destination.

Amaze Light Festival opens Friday, Nov. 19, at the village-owned baseball stadium, 9850 Balmoral Ave., and runs through Jan. 2.

The holiday attraction will have seven immersive themed-based illuminated worlds with lights and music, from the North Pole to the Whimsical Forest, along with timed light shows every half-hour, a tubing hill, train rides and a holiday market.

Santa's Workshop will feature lighted seesaws, giant light brights and a special activity where children can write letters to Santa.

"We are thrilled to partner with the Chicago Dogs and Artistic Holiday Designs on this festival, bringing one of the largest winter festivals in the United States to Rosemont and truly amaze guests from across the region with spectacular holiday light displays alongside activities for all ages," Mayor Brad Stephens said in a news release.

The holiday spectacular cost $2.6 million to set up. Rosemont and the Chicago Dogs - the summertime tenants of the 6,300-seat stadium - contributed $400,000 each, with Artistic Holiday Designs covering the rest.

Under an eight-year agreement inked in July, the village and the Dogs will split the first $800,000 in revenue generated by ticket sales. Anything after that will be split between the operator and the Rosemont/Dogs partnership.

General admission is $23 for adults and $18 for children 2-12. Unlimited tubing rides on "Thrill Hill" during designated time frames cost $20.

VIP tickets, with access to the tented "Leinie Lodge" and premier viewing of the light shows, are $34. Platinum tickets, with access to the Rivers Stadium Club and an all-inclusive buffet and beer, wine and soda, are $85.
