Drive-in for fun
Duff Entertainment recently announced its early summer Live from the Lot lineup, featuring drive-in shows at Wintrust Field, the home of the Schaumburg Boomers. Following up last year's roster that featured Chicago favorites as well as a few nationally known touring acts, the Live from the Lot series launches this weekend with Here Come the Mummies on a reunion tour Friday, May 21, followed up by Chicago rock legends Local H Saturday, May 22. The drive-in series features assigned, socially distanced parking spots for guests to get out and enjoy the show. As of now, masks will be required in public areas.
Here Come the Mummies at 7 p.m. (doors at 5:30) Friday, May 21; general admission includes two per car for $90, four for $170; additional fees for extra passengers, Gold Circle parking. Local H at 7 p.m. (doors at 5:30) Saturday, May 22; $60 for two, $120 for four, with additional fees for extra passengers and Gold Circle. Underbelly Hours' local showcase
The Underbelly Hours, the underground music podcast born out of Elmhurst University's college radio station, is bringing in-person music back to downtown Wheaton for a live, outdoor show at Dry City Brew Works. The UBH Spotlight #1 local showcase will feature folk-rock from Ryan Burns, bluesy guitar licks from Iris Blue and soothing chamber-pop by In Time, all presented by Underbelly Hours hosts Adela and Dan. The concert will be situated on the bar's outdoor patio, with distanced seating and masks required if you leave your table. Watch the Facebook event page for a rescheduled date if the weather turns nasty.

'Situation Chicago 2'
If you enjoyed Chicago rapper Robust's release “I Don't Know Why” a few weeks ago, you should check into the rest of the compilation “Situation Chicago 2,” a collaboration Quiet Pterodactyl set up with Chicago-area bands to further benefit area venues and employees that have been shut down or in a holding pattern because of the COVID-19 lockdowns last year. The full release also features songs from MIIRRORS, Fess Grandiose, Umphrey's McGee and Bela Fleck, Imperial Boxmen, Jeff Parker and more, along with bonus tracks if you purchase the digital version.
