Glenbard North High School student Nora Beckett of Carol Stream was chosen to a part of the Metropolitan Opera's HD Live in Schools Virtual Opera Chorus.

This opportunity came about due to the school's association with New York's Metropolitan Opera and its HD Live in Schools program. Beckett recorded herself on video to be featured alongside other students nationwide in a remotely pieced-together English translation of the "Prisoners' Chorus" from Ludwig van Beethoven's 1805 opera "Fidelio." This year marks a global celebration tied to the 250th anniversary of Beethoven's birth.
