Steppenwolf veterans star in Kane Repertory virtual reading of new play

Kane Repertory Theatre in St. Charles gathered a top-flight trio of Chicago theater veterans for the premiere virtual reading of "Such Small Hands," Adam Szymkowicz's play about a man battling terminal cancer who decides to end his life to the dismay of his wife.

Steppenwolf Theatre veterans Francis Guinan and Rondi Reed (Tony Award winner for "August: Osage County") play the couple confronting a devastating future. Northlight Theatre artistic director BJ Jones directs the reading, which is produced as part of Kane Rep's New Play Lab.

The reading is at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 14, on YouTube.com. A live talkback with the playwright, director, actors and Kane Rep artistic director Daniil Krier follows. The reading is free, but a $25 donation is recommended. See kanerepertorytheatre.com/the-new-play-lab.
