Pitchfork cancels three-day music festival

Wednesday morning, organizers for the Pitchfork Music Festival pulled the plug on this year's edition of the three-day fest because of concerns about coronavirus.

"It can be pretty daunting to think about the future of live music right now, but know that we are fully committed to bringing Pitchfork Music Festival back in 2021, if the public health situation allows for it," organizers said on the Pitchfork website.

The festival was slated to celebrate its 15th year with acts such as The National, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Run the Jewels, Phoebe Bridgers, Twin Peaks and Cat Power in Union Park the weekend of July 17-19.

Plans are underway for Pitchfork to spearhead livestream performances and find ways to support musicians affected by the cancellation. Watch for further updates at pitchfork.com.

Organizers will contact ticketholders with information about refunds.
