Sound check: This week's movies with music include classics, camp and a 'Coal Miner's Daughter'

If you've already worked through the new season of "Ozark" and have had the new Dua Lipa on repeat for weeks, you might want to settle in with a good movie (music included). Here are a few more suggestions from me and the newsroom crew:

• "Mr. Holland's Opus": The 1995 drama sets Glenn Holland (Richard Dreyfuss) on a profoundly moving journey of discovery as the composer learns about his true musical masterpiece. On HBO, iTunes, Amazon Prime, Google Play, YouTube and Vudu

• "Whiplash": In another education-themed flick, J.K. Simmons and Miles Teller face off as a music instructor and his ambitious student in the intense yet exhilarating movie about passion, performance and obsession. On iTunes, Amazon Prime, Google Play, YouTube and Vudu

• "Ray": Follow the life of Ray Charles (Jamie Foxx) in the Oscar-winning biopic of his life on the jazz scene as he redefines soul music for modern times. Also featuring Kerry Washington. On iTunes, Amazon prime, Google Play, YouTube and Vudu

• "Blinded by the Light": A Pakistani teen living in London is given hope and confidence in his own dreams after being inspired by the music of Jersey's own Bruce Springsteen. On HBO, iTunes, Amazon Prime, Google Play, YouTube and Vudu

• "Singles": Sure, one of the storylines in this seminal '90s comedy from Cameron Crowe directly involves a musician (Matt Dillon), but the grunge-era soundtrack is practically a character itself alongside Bridget Fonda, Campbell Scott and Kyra Sedgwick. Featuring appearances from Chris Cornell and Eddie Vedder. On Cinemax, iTunes, Amazon Prime, Google Play, YouTube and Vudu

• "Coal Miner's Daughter": Sissy Spacek takes the mic in this biopic about the rise of country music icon Loretta Lynn with the help of her husband Oliver "Mooney" Lynn (Tommy Lee Jones) and Patsy Cline (Beverly D'Angelo). On iTunes, Amazon Prime, Google Play, YouTube and Vudu

• "Sister Act" and "Sister Act 2: Back in the Habit": Deloris Van Cartier (Whoopi Goldberg) puts her lounge-singer skills to good use as she works to help a sisterhood of nuns ("Sister Act" with Maggie Smith and Kathy Najimy) draw attention to their floundering convent with a transformed church choir. In "Sister Act 2: Back in the Habit," she helps the nuns build confidence and musical abilities in a choir of teens (including a young Lauryn Hill) at a troubled school. They're both super campy, but super fun. Both on Disney+, iTunes, Amazon Prime, Google Play, YouTube and Vudu
