Chords For A Cure Chicago XI

Do you feel like giving something back the day after Thanksgiving? Chords for a Cure XI, the annual holiday benefit show for the Northfield-based Leukemia Research Foundation, takes over Elbo Room's acoustic lounge with fellowship, raffle prizes from House of Blues, Blue Man Group, Boiler Room Chicago and others; and acoustic performances by A Friend Called Fire, Stephen Francis (of Model Stranger), Annalee Hooson, and Neil Turk (of Top Shelf Lickers). This could very well be the last time the event is held at Chicago's Elbo Room, so be sure to drop by for a good cause.

7:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 29, at Elbo Room, 2871 N. Lincoln Ave., Chicago. $10. (773) 549-5549 or elboroomlive.com.

Rylan Wilder benefit show

Mock Nine, Friko and Neptune's Core take the stage at Martyrs' Saturday to help out Rylan Wilder, a Chicago teen hit by a stray bullet during a police chase that started in Des Plaines. Proceeds from the all-ages show will benefit Wilder's GoFundMe page to help cover medical expenses. Head out and see some young musicians as they perform to help out a friend in need. Donations will also be accepted at gofundme.com.

6 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 30, at Martyr, 3855 N. Lincoln Ave., Chicago. $10. (773) 404-9494 or martyrslive.com.

Todd Kessler presents ...

7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 3, at Hey Nonny, 10 S. Vail Ave., Arlington Heights. $10-$20. (224) 202-0750 or heynonny.com.

Dreaming of a Riot Christmas?

If you're not already thinking about next summer, you clearly didn't know Riot Fest early-bird passes are going on sale next week. All we know is the fest is Friday, Sept. 11, through Sunday, Sept. 13, and the passes go on sale Wednesday, Dec. 4. But more details will be coming soon at riotfest.org. I bet somebody'd be happy to see that in their stocking this holiday.
