Pets can get in on holiday fun at Two Bostons in Geneva

The holiday spirit might already be alive in you this year.

Now, a Geneva pet supply store is helping to build it in your pets, too.

Two Bostons, which opened along the Randall Road corridor this past summer, is hosting a number of events this month to immerse pets and their owners into the upcoming holidays.

This weekend, the store at 1900 S. Randall Road will be hosting pet photos with the Green Grump, a Grinch-like character.

The free photo session runs from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 17, at the store.

Families are welcome to join in on the session, owners Andy and AdreAnne Tesene said, to make a unique holiday photo.

If you can't make the Green Grump session, Two Bostons will be hosting other photo and holiday events leading up to Christmas, AdreAnne Tesene said.

When the business opened its fifth location in June, the owners immediately started building on their overall mission of making their Two Boston stores a fun destination for pets and their owners by offering good products, a fun atmosphere and attentive service, they say.

They have other locations in Burr Ridge, Wheaton and Naperville, which has two spots. Andy and AdreAnne Tesene say their pets - Roscoe, Daisy, Beamer, Sassy, Disco and Beast bring joy to their lives, and they want to help their customers care for the pets that do the same for them.

The store offers pet food, supplies and a bakery for pets.

Inside, they also host many events, such as this month's winter coat and boot fitting.

Coming up, they will be holding an in-store gingerbread house decorating event Saturday, Nov. 30, Tesene said.

And next month they will be holding photo ops with a jollier fellow than the Green Grump. Santa will be at the store from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 7.

As part of the event, they will be accepting donations in store for homeless pets, which will go to help the Kane County Animal Control.

The event is free and the entire family is welcome to join in on the photos.

Santa also is coming to other spots along the Randall Road corridor this month, including a standing appearance at the Algonquin Commons mall.

Starting Nov. 29, he will be at the mall on weekends from 1 to 4 p.m.

The mall will have a heated trolley running from one end to the other end, stopping at the stores in between.

Santa will be on that trolley, with a small free gift for kids. He also will be available at the mall for photos on the weekends until Dec. 22.
