Cirque Italia bringing 'water circus' to Gurnee

Cirque Italia is bringing a new water circus show to Gurnee this week, aiming to transport audiences to the port cities of Italy using a unique "water stage."

Under the blue and white big top tent outside Gurnee Mills, the stage has been made to look like a large ship, which is outfitted with Bellagio-style decorative water fountains.

The show will run for nine performances from Nov. 6 through Nov. 10.

According to a release, each of the acts is themed after an Italian city.

The acts include contortion, archery, aerial gymnastics, clowning and a "Wheel of Death."

The show is for all ages. Tickets run from $10 to $40 and are available at cirqueitalia.com/tickets.
