All-star weekend: Marvel, 'Thrones' actors thrill fans in Rosemont

Brie Larson. Chris Hemsworth. Jake Gyllenhaal. Tessa Thompson. Tom Holland. Kit Harington. Gwendoline Christie. Taron Egerton.

All of these famous names were in Rosemont this weekend as thousands of pop culture fanatics packed the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center for ACE Comic Con Midwest.

Fans willing to pay hundreds of dollars could get a picture with the stars, or an autograph — but every attendee got the chance to see their favorite appear on stage in the cavernous convention hall in a series of Q&A sessions.

Sunday's lineup began with Jon Snow himself, Kit Harington. Answering questions from host Karama Horne, the “Game of Thrones” star talked about being a practical joker on set, his excitement to join the Marvel Cinematic Universe in “The Eternals,” and why doing voice-over work for animated franchises like “How to Train Your Dragon” is so much fun.

“That's a great gig,” Harington said. “For many years, playing Jon Snow, he's like swaddled in dead animals!”

He also had praise for “Thrones” co-star Sophie Turner, who played Sansa Stark: “I love that girl. To my very bones.”
