Mercy Home benefit show

The musical pair Michael McDermott and Heather Horton headline a concert fundraiser for Mercy Home for Boys & Girls, which helps youth break free from cycles of neglect and abuse. The benefit show at BrauerHouse Live will also feature a full bar, a silent auction and the musicians' merch for sale. Feels Fest 2019

The emo scene rises up as Chicago post-hardcore band Erabella sets the stage for Feels Fest 2019, an all-ages gathering of area talent including Speaking with Ghosts, When We Was Kids, Guardrail, Capital Vices, Synovial, Havens and Glory Days. Each band will pull out its best classic emo covers (think Taking Back Sunday, Fall Out Boy, etc.), as well as originals, for the evening-long event. 4:30 p.m. Saturday, July 27, at Wire, 6815 Roosevelt Road, Berwyn. Side Street Studio Arts

The finish line is near for up-and-coming musicians racing to the win at the Side Street Studio Arts' Battle of the Bands. Round 3.2 commences Saturday with Billow and Camera Kids taking the stage. Winners are determined by attendees' votes, so be there to catch some great music and support your favorites. 7:30 p.m. (doors at 7 p.m.) Saturday, July 27, at Side Street Studio Arts, 15 Ziegler Court, Elgin. $5 suggested donation each night.
