Backyard needs to be more baby-friendly

As a proud parent of a 15-month-old, we bought our first house 12 months ago. Our baby girl just took her first steps in our forever home. Now that it is getting warm out, she has nowhere to play outside. Our backyard is just a concrete slab.

Between working long hours as a registered nurse, to having a recent spinal fusion, to the never-ending costs of home-owning, the backyard always takes the back seat. Right now the patio is a blank canvas that is just waiting to be maximized to its fullest potential! Baby girl is just dying to get out there and enjoy what could be the next greatest room in our home, Our passion is to have friends and family over in a warm and relaxing environment. Winning this backyard prize could make our homeowner and hosting dreams become a reality!

Blain's Farm & Fleet is the place to go to add some life to your boring backyard so everyone can enjoy it. Our goal here is to suggest ideas that help create a fun, functional space for the entire family.

Suggestions

• First thing needed is to create a comfortable seating area that can also add personality to the space. This can be achieved with a Northwoods log theme created with the Jack Post oversized rocking chairs with matching end table. Not only is this comfortable seating for mom but ideal to help soothe the new baby. Plus we suggest you replace the existing storage structure with our Suncast Ultra storage bench that serves both as storage and seating.

• Add spark to the patio by adding four strands of Moonrays solar edge lighting that bring any dull space to life.

• Now to a make this backyard space more kid-friendly, we suggest a Little Tikes turtle sandbox for the young ones as well as a Wild Sports Tailgate Toss corn hole set for the older kids. Another fun addition is the Triumph Sports fun-size tumble, which is fun for the whole family.

• Add a Charbroil classic two-burner gas grill to finish creating a yard that is fun and functional for under $1,000.

• Now if there is more room in the budget: We would suggest adding more seating in keeping with the Northwoods log theme. Relax on a durable and comfortable swing to make any sunset that much more beautiful.

Add something to help shield your family from the sun with a Sunjoy Pergola that adds charm to any outdoor space while also providing shade and intimacy with its rust-resistant, sturdy steel frame.

Upgrading to a larger sandbox with the Step 2 Naturally Playful sandbox combines outdoor textures and nature's colors to offer a contemporary look in today's neighborhood. It makes a perfect spot for a play date.
