Quick update will do family proud

We would love to "Get Our Summer On." It's our favorite time of the year, but our patio could really use your help. When we get together with our friend group, our seating is inadequate and mismatched. We have a firepit that is rusty, old and falling apart, so it's embarrassing. We keep it covered and use it just as a table when we entertain. The landscaping is lacking something, although we have put in much effort over the years and some of the plants are starting to die. We would love to have a cozy, comfortable, inviting place to entertain all our family and friends.

The Ritchies have a medium-size, rectangular patio with a decorative outdoor rug. There's outdated, mismatched patio furniture and an older firepit. Some updates are in order so they can be proud of this yard when they entertain.

Suggestions

• Lounge set. Add a deep-seating lounge set (sofa, love seat and lounge chair) surrounding a new firepit for relaxation on warm, summer evenings.

• Dining set. We suggest sling bar chairs with a bar table. They are great for dinner with family and friends.

• Bench. A long, narrow bench alongside the exterior house wall would look great and add seating.

• Pots/plants. To finish the new look, add updated planters and greenery.
