Sound check: Badflower rocks, rips your heart out at free WKQX show

Badflower at BaseCamp

Badflower is the new face of modern rock: one foot in huge, hard-driving sound while also dipping a toe in deliciously tortured, emotional pop. The lead single, “Ghost,” nearly hit the peak position atop the rock charts, with follow-up “Heroin” chasing close behind, earning the band a nomination for iHeart Radio's Best New Rock/Alternative Artist. Badflower is out on a national tour promoting the recent release of its first full-length studio album, “OK, I'M SICK,” with a stop at Lisle's BaseCamp. The free show, sponsored in part by WKQX 101.1-FM, also features New Jersey's Deal Casino and Cali garage-rockers Fencer. 8 p.m. Saturday, April 27, at BaseCamp Pub, 5750 Lakeside Drive, Lisle. Free, but tickets are limited so arrive early. (331) 777-4712 or facebook.com.
