Genesee tickets on sale this week for 2 rock legends, 2 tribute bands

Two legendary rock bands and a pair of top tribute shows are coming to the Genesee Theatre in Waukegan.

Tommy James and the Shondells and the Grass Roots perform at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 17. Beatles tribute band American English and ABBA tribute band ABBAMANIA will perform at 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 1, 2019.

Online presale tickets for both shows are available from 10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 2, until 10 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 4. The presale code is GENESEE. Tickets go on sale to the general public Friday, Oct. 5, at 10 a.m.

Tommy James and the Shondells have sold more than 100 million records with 23 gold records and nine platinum albums. Top songs include "Hanky Panky," "Mony Mony," "Crimson and Clover," "Midnight Confessions" and "Temptation Eyes."

Special guest The Grass Roots kicks off the evening with its own hits. A rock legend in its own right, the band has sold more than 20 million records and produced 29 chart singles, 13 of which were certified gold.

Ticket prices are $42.50 to $89.50.

Described by Newsweek as the "best Beatles band on the planet," Chicago's own American English has toured the world performing the Fab Four's greatest hits.

ABBAMANIA, the original tribute show from London's West End, performs ABBA hits complete with glitter, dazzling lights, costume changes and more.

Tickets are $28 to $48.
