Marriott Theatre hosting concert tribute to late director Rachel Rockwell

The stars of Marriott Theatre's 2017 production of "Mamma Mia!" will reunite next month for a fundraiser for the late Joseph Jefferson Award-winning director and choreographer Rachel Rockwell.

Danni Smith, Meghan Murphy and Cassie Slater will share stories and songs (including a few ABBA tunes) in honor of Rockwell. The director of Marriott's revival died in May from ovarian cancer, leaving behind a husband and son.

"We Three, A Concert Fundraiser in Memory of Rachel Rockwell" takes place at 7:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 17, at the Marriott Theatre, 10 Marriott Drive, Lincolnshire.

"Mamma Mia!" choreographer Ericka Mac directs the salute to Rockwell, whose association with Marriott spanned 25 years and included such productions the world premiere "October Sky," "Seussical," "The Wizard of Oz" and others.

Tickets are $40. They're available at the Marriott Theatre box office, by phone at (847) 634-0200 and online at ticketmaster.com.
