Fanilows unite!

Uber-balladeer Barry Manilow is melting hearts in the suburbs. If your holiday season won't be complete without a live rendition of "Mandy" or "Weekend in New England" or any of the other hits that Manilow has racked up over the years, head to Rosemont now.

8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 18, and Saturday, Dec. 19, at the Rosemont Theatre, 5400 N. River Road, Rosemont. $10.37-$259.62. Call (800) 745-3000 or visit ticketmaster.com.

Rock for a cause

A slew of bands on the local Bloodshot Records label will play a special benefit concert this weekend to raise money for members of the Scotland Yard Gospel Choir, a fellow Bloodshot band that was recently involved in a nasty car accident. Among those performing will be the Blacks, a fantastic trio that reunited earlier this year.

The Blacks perform with the Detroit Cobras, the Dexter Romweber Duo and the Lawrence Peters Outfit at 8:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 19, at the Double Door, 1572 N. Milwaukee, Chicago. $10. Go to ticketfly.com.

Christmas cabaret

Homegrown music talents Corky Siegel and Megon McDonough take the stage this weekend for a special holiday concert. Siegel is a legendary harmonica player whose music has explored the meeting points of blues, rock and jazz. McDonough specializes in impassioned readings of folk, jazz and cabaret standards. Both will apply their talents to a collection of holiday tunes.

7:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 20, at Metropolis Performing Arts Centre, 111 W. Campbell St., Arlington Heights. $45. Call (847) 577-2121 or visit metropolisarts.com.
