Rock Hall of Fame Concert set for HBO
HBO gets the 25th anniversary Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Concert as a special debuting at 7 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 29. The four-hour show, taped over two nights at the end of October at New York City's Madison Square Garden, includes segments devoted to Bruce Springsteen & the E Street Band and Stevie Wonder, but also Paul Simon & Art Garfunkel and Crosby, Stills & Nash. For those about to rock - or not so much - we salute you.
Baer necessities
WTTW Channel 11's Geoffrey Baer is back with a new second installment of his documentaries on "Hidden Chicago," airing at 7:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 30, on the public television station. He'll look at local inventions such as Lincoln Logs and the fire pole, as well as touring Deep Tunnel.
Thongs-giving
Yes, now that we're safely years removed from Janet Jackson's so-called wardrobe malfunction at the Super Bowl, "The Victoria's Secret Fashion Show" returns once again to CBS, airing at 9 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 1, on WBBM Channel 2. The Black Eyed Peas provide the runway soundtrack for the annual holiday buying guide for guys.
Mortal combat
The film "300" comes on like a mythological action movie about a war between Greeks and Persians, but sex-advice columnist Dan Savage has called it as homophobic as "Ann Coulter on a meth binge." Judge for yourself at 7 p.m. today on TNT.
