Pajamas are on the long list of things most of us take for granted.

To thousands of homeless children in Illinois, they're a luxury.

That is why Glen Ellyn businesses and schools are teaming up to provide these children with some new PJs.

Pajamapalooza 2009 kicks off Saturday, April 18 at the Bells & Whistles Snackery, 405 Main St. in Glen Ellyn.

While the kickoff pancake breakfast is sold out, children can still take part in a pajama parade around the block, escorted by a police officer.

During this drive, people are asked to donate a new, unwrapped pair of pajamas for boys or girls in sizes ranging from infant to age 18.

E-mail at stevelee@ameritech.net if you have any questions. Donations boxes will be set up around Glen Ellyn between April 20 and May 3.
